Liver detox systems to cleanse your body

Liver is the primary organ of concern, when it comes to detoxification. It accumulates and removes toxic chemicals and particles from blood and detoxifies them by three systems:

1. Kupffer cells – These cells engulfs foreign substances in blood, before they pass through the remaining liver. As the liver becomes sluggish and toxic, Kupffer cells get overburdened that slows down the filtration system. This allows a lot of bowel microorganisms, antigens, foreign proteins along with other waste products to enter the circulatory system as they pass from the liver. Cytokines are the inflammatory agents that are released, which causes the growth of inflammatory allergic situations.

2. Phase I and II biotransformation systems – These two are the most complicated detoxification mechanism of liver. As any toxic chemical gains entry into the liver, reactions then take place that breaks down the chemicals into harmless matter.

The oxidation phase is another name for Phase I. At this time, toxins are oxidized into free radicals. But free radicals are even more harmful than the usual toxins. The damage caused by free radicals has also been linked to heart disease, cancer and allergies.

In the second phase, free radicals and neutralizing molecules (antioxidants) are combined so as to make toxins water-soluble that can be easily excreted by the body. This is quite a sluggish time due to lack of antioxidants in your diet.

3. Bile – Produced by liver and stored within the gallbladder, bile is pumped into small intestine in order to assimilate dietary fats, thereby reducing the intestinal contents. It prevents intestinal contents from decaying and enhances transmit time of the stool. Bile is the main rote by which you can eliminate cholesterol and consists of many toxins that are broken by liver. It binds with the fiber and toxins, so that it is carried from intestinal tract. Because of constipation, stool remains in colon for a long time, so that cholesterol and toxins are reabsorbed into your body. This is why, fiber is an important dietary nutrient that assures a complete purging of toxins.

As the toxins are eliminated, you will enjoy better health along with more vitality and energy to complete your everyday tasks. All the above mentioned liver detox systems aim to convert fat-soluble toxins in their water-soluble form. This assures these toxins that have accumulated over time are easily flushed out from your body through colon or kidneys. Make sure you consult a doctor before resorting to any of these liver detox systems.
